Turks and Caicos Resort Offers Natural Beauty
Close to the Bahamas and just a short flight from Miami, the Turks and Caicos are a little-known Eden featuring one of the longest coral reefs in the world. Marlin, tuna and wahoo are abundant here, while dolphins, turtles and thousands of humpback whales pass by the islands each year. A Turks and Caicos resort is an ideal base camp to view the comings and goings of these wonderful animals.
Ecotourism is a popular activitiy here. More than 30 nature reserves in Turks and Caicos have been set aside for preservation, an area amounting to more than 500 square kilometes. Turtles, seabirds and other creatures, and a marine mooring buoy system created to allow better access to these areas by boat makes the Turks and Caicos a hidden playground offering plenty of opportunities for exploration.
The Provo Golf & Country Club, one of the best golf courses in the hemisphere, makes use of the natural limestone and lakes of the island, and is also home to flamingos, pelicans and heron. Sailing and parasailing are popular activies along Grace Bay, close to the international airport on the island of Providenciales. A booming construction industry has led to the development of a unique Turks and Caicos resort culture, and tourism has become a vital part of the economy, which should seem natural, because there is plenty things to do and see in this hidden Caribbean playground.
The typical Turks and Caicos hotel is framed by the natural beauty of the Caribbean, and is close to a wide variety of choices to have fun and explore the natural environment. These islands are still off the beaten track, and there many opportunities to relax, explore, or even invest.
Protaras Cyprus the Fun Family Resort
Once people have visited the beautiful Mediterrannean paradise Island of Cyprus she tends to draw them back year after year. Resorts on the Island are great for family holidays and the resort of Protaras on the East coast is arguably one of the best. If you are looking for sun, sea and great family nights out you could be in just the right place. There is plenty to keep all the family entertained in Protaras including one of the best beaches in Cyprus known as fig tree bay. Here you will find a great selection of water sports including paracending, water skiing and plenty for the kids too enjoy too. If you like the sea you will love Protaras resort with its miles of safe sandy beaches, restaurants and so much more. You can even hire a self drive power boat by the hour, anchor up and do some snorkeling in the warm crystal clear Mediterranean Waters. A great trick that works real well is to take a bag of bread crumbs and release them into the sea then watch the thousands of beautiful fish feeding on them.
Protaras has just about every kind of restaurant you could ever wish for with a great selection of reasonably priced dishes on offer. Chinese, Mexican and Italian being some of the firm favorites with Cyprus holiday makers who just keep on coming back for more. The exclusive Eden Square area is also well worth a visit with its Japanese restaurant that cooks the food right at your table. There’s also a beautiful Italian and a Mexican called El Chico if you want to try something a little more colorful. The cafe bar at the front of the courtyard is a great place to watch the free cabareted and there’s a great traditional Greek tavern in the square too. The little one’s haven’t been forgotten either because Protaras has a Macdonalds, a Pizza Hut and a southern fried chicken outlet too. There are also some fabulous flambe restaurants dotted around the resort where the meat eaters get to watch their steaks being cooked at the table too.
Family entertainment is well catered for in Protaras and visitors are treated to several “famous” artiste. Well, actually they are mostly brilliant impersonators taking off some famous performers on a nightly basis. Don’t be surprised to discover that Elvis is playing several venues at the same time or to be treated to performances by the likes of Robbie Williams and Kyle Minogoue. Everything from stage hypnosis to hilarious comedy drag acts provide great family fun well into the night. There are even a few night clubs in Protaras if you want to party on until dawn without needing to visit Agia Napa just up the road. On the other hand if you just want to relax with a nice cool drink there are dozens of great bars to choose from. Many of these places are theme bars such as Cheers or only fools and horses where those obsessed with their favorite TV shows can sit and watch the re runs all night. Fancy a taste of Egypt? You could visit the Sfinx bar at the top of the main street. It’s all decked out like an ancient Egyptian temple with mock statues and plaster pillars which are a stark contrast with the wide sports screens.
If you get bored with eating drinking and relaxing there are plenty of places to visit. The church of profitis Elias is set high above Protaras on a hill and you can’t miss it because it’s bathed in lights at night. A brisk walk up the hundred or so steps should soon burn off a few of those excess pounds acquired over dinner. The view from the top is in short spectacular and well worth the effort of the climb. The picturesque Cape Grecko or Cavo Greco as it is also known makes a great trip off resort and is only a few kilometers outside of Protaras on the road to Agia Napa. This area is a protected national park and an area of outstanding natural beauty with plenty of footpaths and picnic areas too. Down against the coast is a tiny church built above the Cavo Greco sea caves where the early Christians used to meet in secret to avoid persecution. Cyprus is steeped in a rich cultural history dating back thousands of years so you may want to book on one of the many sightseeing tours as well. The chances are that once you have visited Cyprus you will return and a great place to start your holiday is Protaras.

Disney’s Resort to be a Major Draw for Ko Olina
The Ko Olina resort destination of Oahu is often thought of as the most compelling vacation draw in all of Hawaii. Many believe it to be among the best ocean resorts anywhere. And now, one of the globe’s most well known corporations is about to make its mark.
In November of 2008, the Walt Disney Co. broke ground on an expansive parcel of land in Ko Olina, Oahu. The long anticipated Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina will be located between the Marriott and Ko Olina Beach Villas. In that area is the vast expanse known as the Ewa Plains. The Ewa Plains landscape will be remade into a lush oasis with a huge artificial volcano, windy rivers, blue lagoons and vast lawns.
Slated to open in 2011, the resort will include 350 hotel rooms, 480 timeshare units, an 18,000 square-foot spa and an 8000 square-foot conference center. Also in the works are Hawaiian cuisine themed restaurants, a Disney kids club, a wedding area and extensive network of water activities and features. Visitors will even be treated to water rides down the slopes of a volcano.
The Ko Olina region is one steeped in Hawaiian culture and customs. The Disney Company has, on several occasions, affirmed its commitment to local concerns and sensitivity to Hawaiian customs.
Disney has brought attention to its plans for educational programs with respect to Hawaiian culture, music, dance, arts and crafts. In addition, the architectural design and decor will incorporate Hawaiian motifs and materials such as lava stone, thatch and local woods. Also, a central building with the lobby entrance, called “Hale Aloha” will be designed along the lines of a Hawaiian Canoe House.
Disney executives also anticipate incorporating traditional Disney themes into the project. A senior executive with Disney Vacation Club Hawaii has stated he can’t imagine a better match them the storytelling of Disney along with the storytelling of Hawaii.”
Ko Olina, Hawaii was not just chosen because of its desirable resort location. A long-standing relationship exists between Disney and Hawaii. In 1937, the Mickey Mouse short “Hawaiian Holiday” was filmed by Disney. A Polynesian Resort can also be found in Walt Disney World in Florida. And to top it off, ABC (a Disney owned company) films its hit drama “Lost” in the islands!
In the midst of difficult economic fortuntes for global tourism, it’s worth observing that the resort constitutes a major bet by Disney. Approximately one thousand people will be employed at the multi-million dollar resort as it draws visitors from around the world.
The project also constitutes a significant vote of confidence in the Ko Olina resort region. The addition of the Disney resort will continue to increase the attractiveness of Ko Olina as a marquee resort destination for vacationers, honeymooners and participants in executive retreats and conferences.
Location for a Major Tourist Resort is Cancun
In the 1970s Mexicos tourism planners decided that a deserted sand spit on the Yucatan peninsula close to the small fishing village of Puerto Juarez was the ideal location for a major tourist Mecca and they set about building a brand new world class resort. Today Cancun, with a permanent population of 500000, is Mexicos premier tourist destination.
The magnificent resort city of Cancun now offers visitors over 25000 rooms in four and five star hotels as well as all inclusive. Just twenty years ago Cancun was a deserted, sun-drenched island off the northeast tip of the Yucatan peninsula.
Also known as Cancun City, the downtown area or Centro is a nine-block square connected to the island by a causeway. The commercial heart of Cancun, is where you will find lots of restaurants and some nice little shops, particularly along Yaxchilan Avenue. Flea market are on Tulum Avenue, the main street, where silver items and handicrafts brought in from all of Mexico.
Downtown is home to less expensive places to shop, including supermarkets such as Soriana and Walmart not to mention several Flea Markets like the one in the Hotel Zone.
Cancun has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. For those who go out more for daytime than night time sports. The beaches are of powdery coral sand, is the place to be. Cancun is a snorkel and scuba diving paradise, the lagoon enclosed by the L shape of the island, is ideal for sailing and water skiing. Deep-sea fishing and diving are fantastic in the open sea, which stretches out in shades of light-green to turquoise from the shoreline to the violet-blue horizon. Along the coastline of about 540 miles, there are numerous coral islands and a reef barrier, the second largest in the world.
Cancun is alive at night time up the Hotel Zone. Many clubs are divided into sections with techno dance music on one side and on the other live rock bands. These clubs usually open their doors at 10 pm and close when the sun rises.
The Yucatan Peninsula has a rich history and a three-hour bus ride east from Cancun hotel zone. Chichen Itza is considered the capital of ancient Mayan civilization and home to some of Mexicos most important archaeological discoveries. The Pyramid of Kukulkan, El Castillo, a step-sided stone pyramid is the centre piece. Chichen Itza officials still allow tourists to climb up its 91 steps, but this opportunity will soon end due to the impact of the thousands of tourists who visit the site.
