Have any of you changed your vacation plans due to the high price of gas?
I am scaling back my vacation next year in order to afford the airline ticket prices that are sure to skyrocket. Also, my camping trips are going to be cut back due to the fact it costs 80.00 currently to fill our truck up. If it goes to 4.00 a gallon that will be at least $100 a pop. Anyone else doing the same?

Making Camping Plans – Reasons To Do It In Advance

Do you want to take a camping break with your friends, your family or maybe with your romantic partner? If that is the case, then you better start planning for that outdoor trip. It is not often that you get the opportunity to camp outdoors and so you might as well get the most out of it. And for that you would do well to plan your camping trip ahead of time. If you are clueless on what exactly are the things you need to do and prepare for, here are some pointers on how to plan well for a camping activity.
One of the advantages of planning a camping vacation is being able to get a reservation from the campground you choose. Having a reservation is important especially during the summer and spring months when camping is a popular outdoor activity. This way you can be sure of your accommodation within your chosen camping site. You will not need to jostle your way into some limited space with possibly hundreds of other campers who also want an ideal place for their camping adventure. Also, making a reservation in advance is good as some sites have limited campgrounds to accommodate more than what they can. So planning for a camping space reservation will be to your advantage.
Aside from asking for a reservation, an advance camping plan can also get you around to having a better camping space. Most campers, especially the first timers, do not know yet that most campground administrators let their campers get specific spots where they may find it suitable to camp. To get a good camping spot, get a map of the campground where you have made reservations and choose your desired spot. For example, you may choose one that is close to a lake or one that is near a hiking trail or path. Remember that a late camping reservation will make it harder for you to find a good camping location. When this happens, you may have to settle for a space less than your ideal spot, which otherwise could have been made available to you if you made the reservation earlier.
Good planning will allow you to prepare well for the camping trip. The preparations include listing down the type and amount of food you need to bring along with you, as well as the kind of activities or games you might like to engage in while camping. Having a list on these and other things which you may wish to consider buying or preparing for before you go on your trip will spare you from difficulties and help make your vacation more fun and enjoyable in the end. Advance reservations can guide you to prepare thoroughly as you get advance ideas if the campground has a lake, electricity or hiking trails. It will also be so much easier for you to determine what supplies and camping gear you need for your outdoor adventure.
These pieces of advice can help you when you plan for your next camping adventure. Remember that you would always want the best experiences for your camping trip. Work for it. Planning in advance will give you enough time to make and check your reservations, to list down the things you need to bring with you, and prepare for any contingency. Planning is important to make your camping vacation memorable, fun and exciting.
