Where is a really cool place to go camping?

We are about to buy a travel trailer, and we want to go on a really fun vacation this year. We live in South Carolina, and have two boys 5 and 4. We want to go somewhere within the surrounding states…not too far that has a lot of stuff for kids to do. Any suggestions?

Where is a fun and exciting place to take a vacation that is driving distance from San Diego?
