Has anyone been on a camping or hiking trip w/ a newborn (mine will be 3 mos old)? How was your experience? Any advice or concerns I should be aware of?

I doubt national parks are stroller friendly (are they?), so we’ll most likely use the baby sling carrier. With the heat and sun and all the hiking, is it ideal to pick a nature spot as our vacation or should we just be cooped up at home during the holiday? (Also, with the heat, should I be giving the baby water or just formula.)
