What is the least amount you’ve ever paid to vacation in Jamaica and how did you do it?

I’m planning for a honeymoon. We’re broke but adventurous. I’m willing to switch flights 5 times, spend a night camping on the beach or sit through a timeshare seminar. I just want to go!
If you have any creative ideas for discounted travel in general, I’m all ears. Thanks!

How Should You Book Your Next All-Inclusive Jamaica Vacation?

If you are interested in taking an all-inclusive Jamaica vacation, you have a number of decisions to make. Aside from deciding when you would like to travel and where you would like to stay, you also need to decide how you want to book your trip; how do you want to make your travel arrangements? Before focusing on which method is the best, it is important to consider your options. In terms of booking an all-inclusive Jamaica vacation, here are two of your options:

Yourself Through a Travel Website: Do a standard internet search with phrases like cheap vacations, vacation websites, or book a trip, and you will get a lot of results. These results are commonly referred to as third-party travel websites. These websites arent affiliated with any one hotel or all-inclusive Jamaica resort; they work with them all. For example, example.com might have one hundred hotels and resorts for the island of a Jamaica. You plug in your travel dates and they provide you with an estimated cost of stay for each hotel or resort. After examining your options, you can book your all-inclusive Jamaica vacation through the travel website.

As you can imagine, booking your all-inclusive Jamaica vacation through a third-party travel website does have a number of benefits. One of those benefits is the ease of comparing. As stated above, your search might contain a list of 100 or more hotels, resorts, and all-inclusive resorts. Each of these locations is going to have an estimated price tag attached. You will also gain access to basic information and a few pictures. The layout of most travel websites makes it easy to compare price and quality, ensuring you dont pay more than you need to.

As for the cons or downsides to planning your all-inclusive Jamaica vacation through a third-party travel website, there are a few. As with using the services of a travel agent, you are dealing with the middleman. You might find a few fees and should you ever need to change your reservations, you might run into some complications because you arent and havent been dealing directly with the resort. Moreover, you will find some all-inclusive Jamaica resorts listed on those third-party travel websites, but not all are present. A lot of times, these resorts prefer to handle all reservations themselves.

Yourself Through a Resort Website: With this method of booking your all-inclusive Jamaica vacation, you find the official website of an all-inclusive resort. This information can be gathered from a standard internet search. You then book your trip through that website.

The main benefit of booking your all-inclusive Jamaica vacation directly through the resort website is the fact that you are on the resorts official website. While most of your work is done from behind a computer, you are dealing directly with the resort. This does make it easier if you need to verify your reservations, make changes, and so forth. Also, it is important to note that you will find many deals and discounts too. Many of us mistakenly believe those third-party travel websites are home to the best deals, but not necessarily!

The main downside to booking your all-inclusive Jamaica vacation directly through a resort website is that it might take you longer to find that website. Lets say you are unfamiliar with Jamaica resorts, you can do a standard internet search with the phrase all-inclusive Jamaica resorts or you can visit a third-party travel website to gather names and then find the official resort websites yourself. While it does result in more work, there are benefits to this choice.

In short, you can honestly book your all-inclusive vacation any way youd like. However, you might be surprised how easy and simple it is to do so by visiting the official website of the resort of your choice. Moreover, you are likely to find more accurate and updated information on prices, inclusions, and so forth. This is because third-party travel websites have hundreds of thousands of hotels and resorts they need to keep updated on. Provided any changes occur, it might take days or months for these changes to be reflected on a third-party website. On the other hand, the information is updated almost immediately on official resort websites.

Jamaica: the Treasure Island of the Caribbean

Jamaica. You are sitting in your cubicle bored to death with a tedious office job when suddenly this word just pops up in your head promising you a distant paradise surrounded by the blue waters of Caribbean. You start dreaming about your next vacation and go online to book an all inclusive package. Jamaica, wait for me — I’ll be coming soon!

Your flight lands in Montego Bay and you are plunged into the hectic atmosphere of the airport crowded by the hordes of tourists: groups, couples and families. A jolly tune of a steel drum band welcomes you and so do hundreds of merchants trying to sell you almost everything: beer, cool drinks, newspapers, souvenirs. They greet you in the Jamaican manner: ‘Yah Mon’ (yeah man), ‘Y’allright?’ (are you all right?), ‘Whaapen’ (what’s happening?).

Finally you find the resort representative. ‘No worries mon,’ says he while helping you whith your luggage. Now brace yourself, the ride to your resort is about to star. The bus driver seems to have no regard to his, yours or pedestrians life and if you are motion sickness prone — you’d better get a paper bag ready. Oh no, he seems to be driving the wrong side of the street! ‘No worries mon’, it’s a tradition the Brits left here. By the way, this is a good reason not to rent a car in Jamaica.

Once you left the airport park you start noticing contrasts. The stunning Blue Mountains are surely a breathtaking view. But they are also a backdrop of the striking poverty reminding you that you are in a third world country. Shacks built of rusty metal and some unrecognizable materials occupy the sides of the road. They are homes for thousands of Jamaicans, and while you drive by you see some of them doing their daily business or simply sitting in the shade and relaxing.

You arrive to your resort which again is a striking contrast to what you have seen on your way there. Most Jamaican hotels are examples of luxury and comfort which are reflected in their far above average prices. You will find the resort staff friendly and welcoming. Let them care about your luggage and go to the nearby diner to enjoy some of the best food in Caribbean.

‘Nyam’ is Jamaican for ‘to eat’. Jamaicans are well known meat-eaters and their favorite dishes are jerk chicken and pulled pork. Patties are also delicious, filled with meat and vegetables, sometimes too hot and spicy. Be careful — most traditional dishes have bones in them, don’t be shy to pick them out of your mouth and place them on the side of your plate, everybody does so.

Be sure to try two famous brands of Jamaica: Blue Mountais Coffee and Red Stripe Beer. And don’t miss the awesome liquor they have there: Pimento Dram.

If you want to have some shopping fun, go to a local market, like the one in Ocho Rios. Enjoy the whirling atmosphere of a Jamaican marketplace where hundreds of merchants are desperately trying to sell you things you’d never need. Some will meet you before you get into their booth and take you inside constantly talking and piling one item on another into your face.

Jamaica’s gems are not just white beaches or glorious nature. Jamaican people, vibrant and friendly folk are the true treasure of the island. Good buy Jamaica, Jah Bless, Likkle more, I’ll be coming back soon!

Planning a Destination Wedding in Jamaica: Helpful Tips

Have you decided that you would like to get married on the beautiful island of Jamaica? If so, you are ready to plan a destination wedding. Despite what you might have heard in the past, destination weddings are actually a lot easier to plan than they originally look like. With that in mind, you can keep reading on for a few helpful tips when it comes to planning a destination wedding in Jamaica.

Do examine all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica. Many people like to refer to all-inclusive resorts as one-stop travel. When you book your stay at an inclusive resort, your stay includes your room, snack, drinks, food, tips, qualifying airport transfers, and some forms on onsite entertainment. In terms of your destination wedding, can have your wedding ceremony and reception in the resort property; you never need to leave!

Do consider rolling your destination wedding in Jamaica and honeymoon all into one. You might originally think that you are shortchanging yourself a good time by doing this, but not when you opt for a stay at an all-inclusive Jamaica resort. As previously stated, your food, drinks, snacks, and some onsite entertainment are included. You should have multiple places to eat at, meaning you won’t get bored with your choices. Beachfront resorts have the best in terms of honeymoon activities. In addition to land based activities, you will find a handful of beach activities that can be romantic, such as snorkeling or scuba diving. With all-inclusive Jamaica resorts, these beach activities are typically listed as inclusions, meaning you don’t pay more.

Do look into an all-inclusive Jamaica resort’s free standard wedding ceremonies. The best all-inclusive resorts in the Jamaica do offer guests a free wedding ceremony when they meet the minimum stay requirement, which is often 5-nights. The good news is that you can purchase upgrade packages to have an all-out reception, a professional photographer, and more. With that said, if you are planning a quiet and small destination wedding in Jamaica, the free standard wedding ceremony will likely do.

Do look at a resort’s wedding upgrade package. As previously stated, you may want more than a standard destination wedding in Jamaica, even if it is free. For that reason, you want to start doing the research now. If you have yet to decide on an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, this research might play an important role in your choice. Some all-inclusive resorts have more extras to choose from than others.

Do start planning ahead. You will find no shortage of rooms at all-inclusive Jamaica resorts; however, you are also planning a wedding. Since you are located thousands of miles away, you will be paired with a wedding planner. You can communicate with this planner via email or over-the-phone. Since you are planning a destination wedding and likely a honeymoon too, you may want to upgrade to a suite and this calls for making your reservations in advance. Moreover, don’t forget that you and your bride, as well as any wedding guests need valid passports to travel to and from Jamaica.

Speaking of guests, do plan in advance. The moment you decide on a destination wedding in Jamaica is the moment you should start informing your guests. Even if you don’t have a set date in place right now, let close friends and family know. There are many ways to save money when planning a trip to Jamaica, but some of your guests may be on strict budgets and they may need to plan ahead and budget for this trip. As soon as your all-inclusive Jamaica resort reservations and wedding is set, inform the guests of that information so they can book their trip in advance and avoid paying higher travel fees at the last minute.

What is nice about planning a destination wedding in Jamaica at an all-inclusive Jamaica resort is your choices. As previously stated, you may qualify for a free standard wedding ceremony offered by the resort, but you always have the option to upgrade. You can invite guests if you want because most resorts provide you with a small number of guest passes and you can purchase more. Or, you can have a small and private wedding ceremony and use a witness provided by the resort. Essentially your wants can become a reality especially when you choose an all-inclusive Jamaica resort that is known for catering to guests.

The Benefits of Opting For an All-Inclusive Beachfront Resort in Jamaica

So you have decided that you want to vacation on the beautiful island of Jamaica. You have made a wise decision because Jamaica is often referred to as the land of fun, sun, and romance. However, your decision making isn’t done just yet; now you need to decide where you want to stay. Just about every corner of the island is beautiful, but you will have the vacation of a lifetime if you opt to stay at a beachfront all-inclusive resort. Why?

The Beauty: One of the reasons why the Caribbean is such a popular vacation destination is because of the beauty of the land or more often the water. The beaches are a huge draw for Jamaica tourists because they are so beautiful. Not only is it amazing to be able to walk along the beach anytime you want, but how would you like to look out your window and see either the sunrise or the sunset? You can with a beachfront all-inclusive resort.

The Tropical Atmosphere: Yes, you will get a tropical feel by staying at an inland resort, but nothing beats a beachfront resort. You get 100% of the tropical look and feel. In fact, this leads to two other benefits of opting for a beachfront all-inclusive resort; the romance or the fun. In all honesty, the beautiful beaches of Jamaica will give you either. They are the perfect backdrop for a romantic getaway or even a destination wedding. Moreover, the fun atmosphere of the ocean makes it a great destination for a family vacation too!

Access to Activities: Along with a beachfront resort should come a handful of beach activities. The activities you gain access to will all depend on the resort in question. However, here are a popular water sports regularly offered at all-inclusive Jamaica resorts: sunfish sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. With the exception of scuba diving, all activities you should be able to enjoy free of charge. An International PADI certification for diving is required and this will cost extra if you don’t already have the necessary documents.

Activities Should Be Listed as Inclusions: If you want to save money, save time, and eliminate the hassle of planning a Jamaica vacation, an all-inclusive resort is the way to go. Your stay includes your room, food, drinks, snacks, and some forms of onsite entertainment. Some of those activities listed above, such as snorkeling and scuba diving should be listed as inclusions at an all-inclusive beachfront resort in Jamaica. This means you basically prepay for these activities ahead of time. If you spend your vacation onsite and make use of these included activities you will save money as opposed to venturing offsite and paying out-of-pocket.

Now that you know some of the benefits of opting for a beachfront all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, are you ready to start booking your travel plans? If so, you want to find that one perfect resort; the resort that seems like it was built just for you. After all, the inclusive resort you choose has the ability to make or break your trip. Here are a few helpful tips for making your choice.

Review the Resort’s of Inclusions: You not only want to opt for a beachfront all-inclusive resort in Jamaica with a lot of inclusions, but ensure they are inclusions you will use. See, inclusions were already figured into the cost of your stay meaning you don’t pay extra. When your resort is packed full of activities, like windsurfing, that you will use, you end up spending your money wisely.

Look at Pictures: Of course you want to closely review the resorts list of inclusions, but a picture can speak a thousand words. You want to vacation in paradise and the beauty of your resort can have a huge impact on that. Not only ensure that you aren’t staying at a second-rate resort, but choose a resort that you could see yourself having the vacation of a lifetime at.
