Families And How To Deal With Them During The Holiday

Are you searching for an exciting and budget-friendly vacation?  You can do many things with your family for less than $1000.  Here are our ideas for cheap vacations that will allow you to spend that quality time with your family that will never be forgotten.

1.  You can take a family of four people camping in your local State or National Park for a week.  All of your campground fees, camping gear, and other travel fees will cost you less than $1000.  You and your family can spend quality time together enjoying time outdoors cooking and looking up at the stars.

2.  Disney World is the top of the list in travel packages for children and the park has made some changes to help make the trips fit any family’s budget.  You can get accommodations at one of the Disney value resorts during the value seasons (January 1-February 16, August 28-October 4, and November 27-December 19).  This can give you and your family the opportunity to visit the land of the Mouse.

3.  You can also get airline tickets inexpensively at several different airlines, including Jet Blue and Southwest.  Then you can take a trip to Ontario, Canada, where you and your family can spend time in an actual igloo.  There is no need for extra coats, however, because these igloos have the latest and greatest in features to help keep you and your family comfortable.  This is one of the most unusual and fun cheap vacations that you can take.

4.  Do you want your kids to learn history and have a fun vacation together?  If so, then you will want to consider Boston, where the country’s history first began.  Lodging is your biggest expense.  Be sure that you walk the Freedom Trail.  This walk will take you through many of the most beloved landmarks of history.

5.  If you do not mind being in the outdoors, then you might want to consider camping at one of the United States’ hot springs.  Hot Springs, Arkansas is a commonly chosen area to visit.  Camping will help decrease your lodging expenses and you will get to soak in the hot, relaxing water.

6.  If you are choosing to visit Europe, you may want to consider staying in one of the hostels.  This is an inexpensive way to sleep, but they are very standard.  If you have been looking for somewhere to just sleep inexpensively, then a hostel can be the way to go.  You can enjoy the many cities in Europe and stay in the many hostels.

7.  If you are in need of a romantic getaway, but do not have much money, then a cruise may be the cheap vacation for you.  Carnival Cruise lines can offer you holiday deals for as low as $500.  You can take a week to cruise to the Caribbean and visit some of the most beautiful locations in the world.

8.  Is it one of your dreams to travel across the United States?  You can do this on the cheap by choosing to ride a Greyhound Bus.  This is an excellent cheap vacation to see many different parts of the United States.  You can stop in inexpensive hotels along the way so that you can sightsee, too.

9.  If you want to visit an island, but do not think that you have the money, then you may want to consider Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa.  You can get a flight and a three-night stay for under $600.  This will give you an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing, beautiful beach vacation in one of the most stunning and beautiful places in the world.  It can be one of the most relaxing holiday deals that you can find.

10.  If the Caribbean is more what you want, then you will want consider one of the travel packages to the Dominican Republic.  The Punta Cana Resort rates start at around $150 and purchasing items is very inexpensive.  If you have been looking for a cheap vacation to the beach, then the Dominican Republic may be a location that you will want to consider.

Motorhome Hire New Zealand ? How To Be A Careful Camper & Have The Best Start Possible For Your NZ Holiday Adventure

10 helpful tips on how to be a careful camper while visiting NZ in your Motor home.
Knowledge provided from experts with many years of experience and also from valuable customer feedback.

1. Arrival and Pick Up After And Before Long Haul Flights
It is highly recommended that you stay in a NZ Hotel or Motel for your first and last night of your New Zealand visit to avoid being overtired and to start your NZ holiday relaxed and refreshed. Be sure to book into a Hotel or Motel near Auckland or Christchurch Airport in advance.

2. For Peak Travel Over Christmas and New Year – Pre Book Your Holiday Park In New Zealand
We strongly recommend that you pre-book your campsite in advance to avoid later disappointment. Most NZ Holiday parks are equipped to please a wide range of people for a minimal cost. Within an attractive landscaped setting (often beside a beach or lake) they provide sites for tents, caravans and campervans. If you’re setting up camp or parking a Motor Home, you can choose to stay on a powered or non-powered site.

3. Freedom Camping
Each district in New Zealand has different rules in regards to freedom camping (and parking of campervans). We suggest that you contact the nearest Visitor Centre in the region you visit, to find out about camping in a particular location. The impact of freedom camping on the environment can be a strain to the environment – New Zealand Tourism does not recommend freedom camping in New Zealand.

In certain Areas in New Zealand it is forbidden to free camp – for example National Parks etc. If you do freedom camp it is very important to remember to not to leave any rubbish behind or any traces of your stay. Please consider the environment when you do free camp and be a careful visitor – leave only footprints! When you hire a Motor home in NZ, most if not all NZ motor home companies provide you with a list of Holiday Parks containing the contact details and many more ideas on where to camp.

4. Battery Power of Your NZ Motorhome
It is not always necessary to go to a campground each night but it is recommended to do this every third or forth night to empty toilet and waste water tanks and to get plenty of fresh water. You can camp on the side of the road or anywhere else as long as there are no signs indicating NO CAMPING or PARKING overnight.

5. Toilets on board your NZ Motor home
On board toilets from Motor homes can only be legally emptied into so called Dump stations. These are normally found in holiday parks.

6. Ferry Crossing North to South or South to North Island, NZ
Many visitors ask if they can exchange their Motor home at the ferry terminals in Wellington (North Island) or in Picton on the South Island.
Most campervan companies do not have any facilities or depots in those areas and the vehicle has to go onto the Cook Strait Ferry with you.

7. Peak Season Travel on Interislander or Bluebridge Ferry NZ
During peak season travel (especially during the Christmas and New Year period and during School holidays – availability for motor vehicles can be restricted and it is highly recommended that you pre- book the passage in advance to avoid waiting in long queues at the respective terminals or have to wait for the next day to get on a ship.
A daytime sailing is highly recommended as the journey of about 3 hours is very scenic and often Dolphins swim alongside the ship and make this trip a memorable one.

8. Manual vs. Automatic Transmission
Why are most NZ Motor homes equipped with manual gear shift and not automatic transmission?
Many visitors ask for a campervan or motor home with automatic transmission.
The reason why bigger NZ motor homes are equipped with mainly manual transmission is due to the way roads are built in New Zealand – many hills and mountains which means a vehicle with manual gear shift drives much easier in such conditions.

9. NZ Road Restrictions
There are a handful of road restrictions in place from most if not all NZ motor home and campervan companies – if you drive on any of the following roads – all insurances in place will be voided and you will be in breach of the rental agreement.

North Island:
Ninety Mile Beach – Northland
North of Colville Township – Coromandel

South Island:
Skippers Canyon – Queenstown
Ball Hutt Road – Mt Cook

North and South Island:
Any roads closed by Traffic Police or other authority.

10. Fuel Costs in NZ
Because of constantly changing world oil prices, fuel costs in New Zealand are not easy to predict. Current information will be available upon request from vehicle providers.

There are 1000 or more ways to improve your planning for a successful camper van holiday in New Zealand – we hope that you have found these 9 hints for your campervan hire useful and informative.

5 Highlights of a Holiday in Kalkan

Want to experience Turkey’s glorious coast in comfort and sophistication? Book a holiday in one of the Kalkan hotels – here are 5 resort highlights.

What was once a simple fishing village has now become one of the best resorts on the Turkish Coast. Famed for having over 300 days of sunshine each year and for being one of the more sophisticated and laid back of the Turkish resorts, it is the ideal holiday destination for a relaxing break in the sun. Kalkan hotels are of an extremely high quality, and the quieter atmosphere make it especially popular with couples. For a peaceful and romantic holiday in Turkey, Kalkan is an excellent choice.

If you are interested in taking a holiday to Kalkan, here are five highlights that you shouldn’t miss out on in the resort itself and the surrounding area…

The Streets of Kalkan

The resort is set on a steep hillside overlooking the bay, and the narrow cobblestone streets give it a charming and traditional atmosphere. The Kalkan hotels have been designed to fit in naturally with the village architecture, and so it is a great place to simply stroll around and soak up the ambience, with plenty of trinket shops, cafes and restaurants providing places to stop off along the way.

The Marina

The Marina is the heart of Kalkan. Once notable as one of the few good natural harbours in the region, it has been developed into a vibrant and attractive centre, filled with excellent restaurants and bars. There are usually many sailing ships and luxurious yachts passing through the harbour, offering plenty to look at. The Marina is also the place to go to for gulet cruises and local boat trips up the coast.

Kaputas and Patara Beaches

Kalkan has a small rocky beach of its own, but the real highlights are to be found a short distance away. Kaputas and Patara (both accessible via reliable public transport from Kalkan hotels) are regarded as two of the very best beaches in Turkey. Both are outstanding, with Kaputas being a delightful swimming cove backed by a gorge and Patara a glorious 18km white sand beach.

Kekova

Just a short boat ride away from the resort is the island of Kekova, a fascinating sight that you shouldn’t miss. Once an inhabited part of the mainland, a part of the island was submerged by an earthquake thousands of years ago, and the ruins of an ancient town can still be seen just below the surface. The sunken town is a dramatic site, but the rest of Kekova is equally charming, with plenty of beaches and bays to enjoy during your trip here.

Patara

There are many ancient historical sites within easy reach of Kalkan hotels, but Patara is one that should not missed. The ruins of this ancient city are in a remarkably good condition, and a trip here is essential for anyone with an interest in the ancient world. The surrounding area has plenty to see as well – in addition to the outstanding beach that has already been mentioned, there is also a nearby nature reserve, and so a trip out to Patara truly has something to offer everyone!

Nick Wrightman is the founder and M.D. of The Tapestry Collection, specialist holiday tour operators who can arrange a stay in the very best Kalkan hotels as well as packages for Crete, Kefalonia and Morocco. The Tapestry Collection includes boutique hotels, villas, exclusive apartments, gulet holidays and riads in a selection of delightful resorts.
