Where in California should I vacation to?

I’d prefer somewhere in the southern part so we can experiance the beach and what not but we’d like to go camping so maybe a good state park with camping. Also if any of you have any good suggestions for resturaunts, attractions, stuff like that, it’d be great.

We are going to visit my mother in law she lives in los angeles. We live in KS. We are traveling with kids. like a camping site where the kids can play golf, swim, bike ride just family fun our last stop would be my mother in law.

Is Sequoia National Park in California a good place to take young children on vacation?

I am planning a family vacation. I have a 2 and 5 year old. I remember the pictures of people driving through the forest looking at the trees. I am not sure how much hiking and walking will be required.

I would like an outdoor trip for the family. We’ve never been out camping and it is a shame.

If you have any other suggestions it would be appreciated. Keep in mind that the only seasoned camper in our group is my husband. I am not ready to carry 2 kids up a mountain.
