Is it wrong for me to go on a mini vacation alone?

I have been married for thirteen years and have two younger children. My husband has been away on over night camping trips many times over this period and I have never once had the opportunity to spend some time away.
Is it wrong for me to leave my husband and kids for a 3 or 4 day trip to visit a friend?

My wife will be out of town with my kids visiting her parents. I was planning on a camping trip by myself for a few days. She thinks its weird that i would go by myself when i have people to go with. I think it will be relaxing to get out on my own without having other people around.

I’ll be single soon and don’t want the hassle of drumming up company everytime I want to take a long weekend at the beach or go camping in the mountains. Does anyone else take off out of town on their own?
