Anyone have ideas for a summer vacation driving distance from Denver Colorado?
I recently started working for a school and have all summer off with my 2 kids who are 8 (boy) and 10 (girl). I’m looking for a vacation spot within a day or two drive of the Denver area. We have already been to the mountain resorts and local spots many times and are looking for something fun that is a little further away.
We enjoy sightseeing, the outdoors and educational experiences but don’t have any camping equipment (and really don’t want to buy it). Any suggestions or experiences to share?
Lots of places are within that distance. What about Yellowstone National Park? Or go to California and see the Redwood trees? Another option is the Grand Canyon.
How about visiting a couple of National Parks? You could stop by Black Canyon of the Gunnison on your way down to Moab, Utah to see both Arches and Canyonlands? There is lodging in close proximity to all of these.
