Florida: Manatees, Dolphins and Gators, Oh My!

Looking for things to do in Florida? Having visited and lived in Florida I can tell you that there are an amazing number of manmade attractions and natural wonders in the Sunshine State.

Pensacola:  In the Florida Panhandle, Pensacola offers a number of great natural water sports; swimming, sailing and fishing just to name a few. Sam’s Fun City is a great place to take the kids for water fun, arcade games, indoor rides and laser tag.

Miami:  While in Miami, get away from the beach and shopping for a few hours of enjoying the lush botanicals at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden.

Ft. Lauderdale: Located just north of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale is a great place to sightsee and watch the rich and famous by taking a Carrie B cruise of their yachts and homes. Get up close with nature on an exciting airboat ride at the Everglades Holiday Park.

Florida State Parks are located all around the State. When I visited last year, I was fascinated by the Blue Spring State Park with its large, clear spring, although I was disappointed to be there at the wrong time to see the protected manatees.

Navarre Beach: In the Panhandle, Navarre Beach draws visitors to its pristine beaches that are not as crowded as some of the other beaches on the Gulf Coast.

Florida Keys:  When you get to the Florida Keys make sure you take time to check out the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. If you love viewing land and sea wildlife in their natural habitats these are a must.

Orlando: Everyone knows the most famous of Orlando’s family and kid-friendly attractions: Disney World, Universal Studios and Epcot Center.  However, take one night to visit the adults-only Pleasure Island for dining, dancing and live music.

Cocoa Beach: Cocoa Beach, Florida features the Cocoa Beach Thousand Islands Dolphin & Manatee Tour, the Kennedy Space Center and the Astronaut Hall of Fame.

Clearwater Beach: To find some great seashells, the beach at Clearwater Beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida is the perfect place to go shelling. But head out early or the local shell hunters will beat you to that big conch.

Key Largo: Swimming with dolphins is the dream of many people who feel an affinity for these gentle sea creatures. My sister visited Key Largo last year and was thrilled to get up close and personal with dolphins; a dream fulfilled.

The Growing Philippine Tourism in Bohol

The Philippine tourism is enjoying an expanse growth as more places in the country are developing to become main tourist attractions among the local and foreign travelers alike. The Philippines is a culturally and historically rich nation and takes pride of its major attractions on nature, beaches, and historical landmarks.

The Philippines is endowed with white beaches with crystal, clear and clean water that are a major attraction in different archipelagos of the country. Philippines beaches offer a tranquil respite to those who wants to enjoy a relaxed getaway closer to nature. The White beach in Boracay Island has been the center of the Philippine’s tourism with thousands of tourist visits each year. The Island of Boracay is crawling with visitors from foreign to local tourists every month.

Palawan beaches also created a distinctive beauty and attraction for being less commercialize with more preserved natural beauty to boast. Divers usually visit the place because of its known hot dive spots. Cebu beaches also provide glorious and tranquil beaches to adore.

One of the astonishing growths in the Philippine tourism is evident in Bohol. Known for its richness in cultural heritage, Bohol has its own line of tourist attractions. It has become one of the most visited places in the Visayan provinces of the Philippines. The Philippine’s Department of Tourism is promoting Bohol for its land history and natural beauty.

There are different places to visit in Bohol each with distinctive beauty and thrill. Bohol beaches are also scattered throughout the oval shape island of Bohol. It has small islets and offshore and among the popular is Panglao Island, famed for its unpolluted, clean beach waters. There are also a number of resorts in Panglao Island to accommodate the growing numbers of tourists visiting the island.

The Loboc River Cruise is becoming popular too. It is a boat ride tour along the Loboc River on a motorized floating restaurant boat with a 45-minute ride along the cool vegetations of the river. There will be a brief stop over to the Busai Falls. A seafood feast is served during the cruise.

A common stop over during a land trip cruise in the island is at the Blood Compact Site. It is the landmark where the blood compact between the Filipinos and Spaniards transpired. Another famous place to visit in Bohol is the Chocolate Hills. These are mounds of hills that look like chocolate hence the name Chocolate hills. It also offers a panoramic view to enjoy watching. Two of the highest hills have resorts to provide accommodations to the visiting tourists in the area.

The Tarsier sanctuary is another favorite destination in Bohol tours. You can see the world’s smallest primate here – the tarsiers. The antiquated Clarin Home is another place commonly included in the island tour itinerary in Bohol.

Bohol is abounding with natural beauty and cultural heritages that are well preserved and historically rich which become the main attractions in the Philippine tourism in Bohol Island.

Magaluf in Majorca ? Enjoy the True Sense of Joie De Vivre

Imagine an isle that has sunshine 95% of the year. Add to that a cerulean sky and an azure blue sea. This would be Magaluf in Majorca – truly a destination like no other. Visited by thousands upon thousands of tourists annually, this destination is a favourite of both families and couples.

Whilst there is attention given to style, there is also a dose of focus given to substance as well. Magaluf is widely noted for its cuisine and wine. And like everything else in Magaluf, there is history and a sense of occasion attached to it, so much so that it is guaranteed to leave your senses titillated. There is one particular dish that is called llom amb col which is a must have. It is pork with a mix of cabbage coupled with raisins and nuts.

Having been imbued with so many attractions and activities, another fact of Magaluf needs to be mentioned. And that is the numerous festivals that take place all year round. What these festivals usually entail is appreciation for a patron saint. The festivities include dancing, revelry, a cornucopia of wine and food not to mention the heady and kaleidoscopic floats and stylized dances that accompany such festivals. This per se is a tourist attraction and has its roots in religious and pagan ideals.

So there you have it. A location that boasts a plethora of things to do. The common misconception that people have about Magaluf is that it still lives in its past and as a consequence is unrefined and “rural” in its offerings. This is simply erroneous hearsay. The fact that Magaluf is teeming with activities and heightened levels of fun is a by product of a fruition between its inimitable past and contemporary present. So what you have is old world charm with an enviable past and a present that is both modern and luxurious. You as a visitor in Magaluf would not be left wanting.

Not long ago, Koh Samui was a place which was mostly dominated by mountains and jungles and anybody, who wished to go from one part of the island to the other, had to walk long distances through the jungles.
